Job Description

Cornerstone Staffing Solutions is assisting an Aviation/Manufacturing & Production company with a temp to hire Procurement Clerk. Are you a detailed an organized tasked individual? The Procurement Clerk must be able to perform the below:

Responsibilities:

  • Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
  • Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities
  • Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization
  • Monitor market trends and market suppliers, such as price fluctuations, stock availability and cost reduction strategies
  • Prepare reports and updates when required
  • Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements
  • Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors
  • Ensure management is aware of contract negotiations and adjustments with suppliers for best practice tools and methods.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders and order schedules, logs and track sheets
  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures
  • Conduct research for new components and suppliers as needed
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues

Required Skills:

  • Must read, speak and write the English language fluently.
  • Basic computer knowledge (i.e. use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Internet).
  • Strong ability to organize and work in an organized fashion.
  • Previous experience working in procurement and inventory-related duties and responsibilities.
