The Director of Product Development is responsible for providing leadership within the Software Solutions and Software Engineering teams; managing products, projects, and timelines; creating and maintaining product road maps; and implementing processes, workflows and procedures that contribute to operational efficiency and improved project outcomes. Additionally, the Director of Product Management coordinates with multiple departments within the company (Marketing, Client Services, Business Development, etc.) to ensure the successful release of projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborates with Stakeholders in formulating product road maps and project plans to ensure timely, successful execution of projects
Oversees and participates in collaboration with other business areas (Technical Support, Training, Marketing, Client Services, Business Development, etc.) and as well as external customers (i.e., clients, partners, vendors) as-needed to conduct product and project planning / management / execution that yields successful product roll-outs, from creation to launch and beyond, including maintenance and sustainability
Creates, delivers, reviews, approves, and maintains the following as-needed: product road maps, project plans, project time and cost estimates, and feasibility analyses
Manage the product road map definition, balancing market needs with longer term goals
Work with product engineering to make strategic design decisions and to ensure that overall functionality of the finished product delivers value and exceptional user experience
Works closely with SVP and other stakeholders to identify partners (customers, industry) for future portfolio expansion for new business and installed base
Supporting VP in achieving overall P&L goals
Champion best practices and approaches to the Design process, including Design Thinking principles
Continually evaluate the User Experience of our applications, incorporate UX design best practices throughout the design process
Use metrics drive approach to prioritize features and functions into the sprint backlog
Enhances and matures the Agile software development life cycle within Product Development department by applying industry best practices & processes
Identifies areas for improvement; makes appropriate recommendations to management pertaining to best practices, processes, templates, workflows and methodologies; and coordinates implementation of approved changes
Provides daily, weekly, monthly, and as-needed reports to management on the activities of the teams.
Analyzes reports, identifies trends or issues, and creates / executes action plans as-needed
Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS (Certifications,Education, Licenses, Software Programs, KSA s):
Six Sigma, Lean Certification is a plus
Working knowledge of all phases of the software development life-cycle
Experience with Agile development methodology
Proficiency with the following: Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Project, and Team Foundation Server
Experience managing through influence, driving results requiring contribution from multiple stakeholders without direct oversight
Negotiation skills to influence strategic issues requiring coordination across functional/business unit lines or influencing senior leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization
Strong coaching skills, with the ability to differentiate coaching and management
Delegation skills includes staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement
Drive, passion, and initiative, with ability to adapt quickly to rapidly-evolving products, technology, and situations are a must
Strong analytical, problem resolution, technical, application / system troubleshooting skills with the ability to think clearly and resolve issues efficiently under pressure
Exceptional written and verbal communication, listening, observational, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail in a demanding deadline-driven environment. Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
Additional Qualifications:
Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to travel occasionally within the US/Canada are requirements for this role
Typical travel will include on-site visits to client organizations, conferences / trade shows and will not usually exceed 25% of overall duties
Education:
BS Degree or equivalent work experience in a Product Development discipline. Master s Degree/MBA a plus
1-2 years technical project or product management experience
2-3 years experience directly managing a high-performing team
Work Requirements:
Frequent communications, verbal and written.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.
Must be able to read, count and do simple mathematics.
Be able to lift up to 10lbs. occasionally.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a phone with headset, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
